Deficiency in Math

This is why we trail so many countries in math.

I was sitting in a cafeteria recently. Next to me sat a blonde who was engrossed in her newspaper.

One of the headlines blared: "12 Brazilian Soldiers Killed." She shook her head at the sad news.

Then, turning to me, asked, "How many is a Brazilian?"

I heard the same one but it went like this: Pres. Bush was in the Oval office when in came an Aid and said that 10 Brazilians were lost in Iraq. Bush hung his head and after a minute, looked up at the aide and asked, "Son, how many is in a Brazilian?"

Okay, now you've got me going...
Hospital regulations require a wheelchair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital. After a chat about
rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator. On the way down I asked if his wife was meeting him. "I don't know," he said. "She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown."
